It might be hard to believe for many, but ‘Achaars’ or ‘Pickles’ as they are known around the world, originated in ancient India.
Yes. Believe it. As per the Pickle History Timeline by the New York Food Museum, cucumbers brought from native India to the Tigris Valley, marks the first recorded origins of pickles around the world. Even the Harappans from the Indus Valley Civilization were enjoying their achaars way back in 2600 BCE!
Sarga Kitchens™ is a reminder of this universal desi feeling of Achaars & flavours. And we believe there was no other way of arriving at the brand signature for Unni’s homemade achaars– The Indian Pickle Jar, fondly remembered as the Bharani. A tale of time, flavors, and a country called India.
